Dave McLain Wins 2015 CGT Visionary Award

Dave McLain, Senior Vice President and CIO of Big Heart Pet Brands, just won a Visionary Award presented by Consumer Goods Technology. McLain led the enterprise strategy for IT including architecture, integration, applications, and operations for Big Heart, which is a $2.3 billion company. He also led the transition to the cloud, including the selection and implementation of Kenandy. “This transition to products such as Force.com, Kenandy, and Workday drove an on trend 45 percent reduction in IT costs while enabling mobile and integration improvements,” said McLain.

McLain is the first CIO to implement multi-tenant ERP in a corporation over $2B in sales. In March, Big Heart was acquired by The J.M. Smucker Company, merging a portfolio of brands including Meow Mix, Milk-Bone, and other pet food products. McLain will next help the two companies with technology integration during the transition.

According to CGT Alarice Rajagopal, the seven visionaries selected for the award are “seven of the brightest minds, leading their companies down the path to success.” For more details, please read the article in Consumer Goods Technology.
