Hire the Person, Not Just the Experience
The Wall St. Journal asked me to write a blog about my hiring practices, and I was happy to respond.
Since I started The ASK Group in the 1970s, I’ve developed my own style of hiring. Hiring is one of the most important things I do, and I don’t rely on a checklist. I look for people who can work in an entrepreneurial company. I look for smart, energetic, creative people who can “think outside the box.” I look for people who can complement my skills and the skills of the team. And I often hire people who “don’t know what they don’t know.”
